Hello friends. How are you today? I am well, thank you.
As has been the song and dance for the last several months, I’ve been distracted balancing the whole life, work, and graduate school dream. It’s tiresome, I won’t lie to you. I am thankful that I have been able to find (make) time to get away so that I can rest (and digest) from time to time.
My lover and I spent this past weekend celebrating my impending birthday (today) in the forest of Mount Hood. Four miles of dramatically uphill snowshoeing to perch 40 feet up in the trees. We had lovely views (that I failed to photograph before the clouds engulfed us), nourishing food, and companionship. I have looked forward to my “golden birthday” as long as I can remember. Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to get older; my mother will remind me that I have been an old lady since I was a little girl (OK, maybe she didn’t say exactly that). The past twenty-six years have been pretty stellar. I have worked hard to cultivate relationships, place boundaries, build my career, and reinvent my education. Twenty-six brought so many wonderful and hard-earned things, now I look to twenty-seven and the potential that it holds.
I have plans for this year, wild dreams waiting to be realized.
Until next time,
